PTA Firework and Halloween Spectacular - Saturday 9 October 
Don’t miss the opportunity to come to the PTA Fireworks and Halloween Spectacular next Saturday, a great opportunity to meet friends and raise valuable funds for the school. Book your tickets now via the Payment Portal at the discounted cost of £25 per family (£9/adult and £5/child), with food included. Once purchased, wristbands will be available for you to collect at the gate on the night.  
  
Volunteers required @ Fireworks please! 
Please contact Tina Webster via c.e.webster@btinternet.com if you are able to help at the fireworks for any period of time, thank you. It’s a great way to meet other parents especially if you are new to the school.

Parent Support Talks - Tuesday 5 October 6pm 
This event for parents will be taking place at Claires Court Senior Boys. Please do not drive into the school until after 5.45pm when the coaches have departed. The first Cyber Safety talk commences at 6pm, light refreshments will be served at 6.45pm, with a second talk ‘Girls on Board’ taking place 7pm - 7.45 which is only applicable to parents with daughters. Please find the letter for more information, and reserve your seat by 3 October. 
 
Reporting your son’s absence from school 
Please report any absence to school by 9.30am, either by emailing seniorboys@clairescourt.com or calling the school office on 01628 327600. We do need you to be in touch every day of an absence to keep us informed and updated on your son’s situation. Thank you for your help. 
 
PCR Testing 
Please remember LFTs are for asymptomatic testing only. If your son is displaying any of three main covid symptoms (temperature, cough or loss of smell), they must take a PCR test and should not come into school until you have received the results. Please do inform the school of PCR results once received. 
 
Nasal Flu Spray - 13 October 
Please find the letter from the Berkshire Health Immunisations team regarding the Nasal Flu Spray for Years 7 - 11 scheduled to take place on Wednesday 13 October. Please complete this electronic consent form as soon as possible, to either provide consent or opt-out, using the school code BK110153B. Please complete this by 11 October at the latest. Please do not complete more than one consent form. Call the NHS Berkshire Healthcare Immunisation Team on 0300 365 0077 if you have any questions.

Following Mr Spanswick’s email yesterday about Covid-19 Vaccinations for Years 8-11 being available at school on Wednesday 13 October, please find the NHS Berkshire Immunisation Team’s letter about this. May we please kindly ask you to either give consent or opt out using this electronic consent form and the school code BK110153B. 
 
YEAR 8 ONLY 
 
Year 8 Activity Day - 7 October 
Please find a letter regarding an Activity Day that has been organised for Year 8. It will take place during the school day, so no consent is required, and normal school drop off/pick up arrangements apply. Boys will need to wear their PE kit and bring a waterproof, face mask, nut free packed lunch and named refillable water bottle.

School Photograph Orders 
Following the Year 9 photographs on Monday 27 September, boys will have brought home the Tempest Order Form. All orders and payment can be made online directly with Tempest, and for free delivery via school, orders need to be placed within 10 days after which a £5 P&P home delivery cost will apply. 
 
YEAR 11 ONLY 
 
Parents Evening - Thursday 14 October 
Parents and boys in Year 11 are invited into school on Thursday 14 October. The evening will start at 6pm in the Sports Hall with a short talk from Mr Wilding and Head of Year, Mr Thompson. There will then be the opportunity to meet with teachers in classrooms, with light refreshments available in the Dining Room.

Having played well against Holyport College the previous Wednesday, the 1st XV reached a higher level of performance in this resounding win against Reading. 
  
U16s v Halliford 
Won 45-7 
An excellent start to the season by the U16s who having conceded an early try then played some excellent rugby to run in 7 tries.   
  
U15s v Rickmansworth 
Won 54 - 10 
The U15s took part in the 1st Round of the Schools Vase competition running out comfortable winners thanks to a dominant performance. The second round is due to take place in the week beginning Monday 11 October.
