|Mr Richards' words summer week 3|
| I hope you all enjoyed your bank holiday weekend. Back to the written word for me this week, I am not really a vlogger, so thank you for enduring my previous posts.

|A message from the Executive Head|
Dear Parents and Guardians
While we wait patiently for the cessation of restrictions on May 17, school is very much in flow and the introduction of sports fixtures last week was warmly welcomed… even though our first competitive match for nearly 14 months ended with rain stopping play after 8 overs!
Please can I relay this important message - if your child is feeling unwell in the morning before going to school, please do not send them in if they have a temperature, or any of the other array of symptoms that Covid-19 can be associated with. We are working very hard to protect our community from the spread of this dreadful virus, and while numbers in the area are low, we have had a case of Covid-19 in the school this week. Thankfully, our safety measures have ensured that only one other person has had to isolate, but it does remind us that the use of Lateral Flow Tests for our staff and senior pupils, as well as all other control measures, are vitally important.
On a lighter note, it has been wonderful to hear the sound of musical instruments being played at school. Our Peripatetic music teachers have been delighted to return to school. I’ve heard the sound of trumpets, guitars, drums… and even the odd voice too!
Have a lovely weekend.
Executive Head Teacher
ALL YEAR GROUPS:
Lateral Flow Tests
Your daughter should be bringing home a pack of seven Lateral Flow Tests from school today. If she does not, please remind her! If she is not in school today, please ask her to go to the School Office to collect a pack next week.
Combined Cadet Force (CCF) Parent Information Evening - Tuesday 18 May 7pm
We would like to invite you to our virtual CCF Parent Information Evening being held on Tuesday 18 May via the Meet Link. The Big Ask - Deadline for completion 19 May
The deadline for taking part in ‘The Big Ask’ is Wednesday 19 May. The adult survey is temporarily suspended due to technical issues, but please do encourage your daughter to share her views in the pupil survey. The new Children’s Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, aims to find out children’s concerns and aspirations about the future to identify barriers preventing children reaching their potential, put forward solutions and set ambitious goals for the country to achieve.
