Exams - 5 things to remember
The A Level exams have begun in earnest now but I just wanted to make you aware of the top 5 things that will help students even before they get to the exam hall.
Please can you check with your sons and daughters that they are aware of these.
- Leave home in good time to get to the exams
- Arrive at Senior Boys site by 8.45am LATEST for a morning exam and 1.15pm LATEST for an afternoon exam. Too many students are arriving 2 minutes before the exam starts with no time to calm down before going into the hall.
- Remember pencil cases, pens, pencils, rulers calculators. So far every day this week a student has forgotten a pencil case.
- Remember to wear your LANYARD.
- Please be dressed in business attire. T shirts and short skirts are not acceptable.
Year 12 – Tuesday 18 June 6pm - Higher Education and Alternatives
Year 12 will return to school on Monday 3 June. On Tuesday 18 June there is a Higher Education and Alternatives evening from 6pm which gives guidance on what is life after Sixth Form. Invitations will be sent out soon. There are two parts to the evening. For those not wishing to go down the degree course route, there will be a session on “Alternatives to Higher Education” beginning at 6pm. The session on “Higher Education degree options” will begin at 7pm. Parents and students are invited to attend either or both sessions. Please do let us know if you wish to attend, and which sessions by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
A Level results day
A level results day is Thursday 15 August. This year, the results will be available to collect from College Avenue and Mrs Rogers and the team will be in the Sixth Form area. All students are reminded to check their UCAS track that morning which will tell them if they have a university place. Students who have checked track and know they have a place, can come into school from 8am to collect their results. Any students who have checked track that morning and do not have a confirmed place may come in earlier that morning at 7.30am so that the Sixth Form team can help them with the next steps.
