Mr Spanswick's Words Lent 4 |
 | Earlier this week, Mrs Stay and I compiled the Pupil Voice suggestions for how we can spend some of the PTA’s hard earned money on various items in school. There were some brilliant ideas, as well as some rather unusual ones! However, for me... | |

From the Office | Rabbits
Our Rabbit winners this week are Akash Rudrapatna and Siddant Nayak. Both Akash and Siddant are extremely polite, helpful and caring individuals. Over the past few weeks they have been helping a number of teachers and peers, giving of their time selflessly always following the Golden Rules. These two boys are both popular and worthy winners of the Rabbit.

News from the Sports Master
This week has been a little quieter due to the fact that all our U11 fixtures were cancelled on Wednesday due to waterlogged pitches at The Beacon school. Our pitches at home were not in a fantastic state, however, we still managed to find areas to do some training that did not have standing water on.
The U9s all played on Tuesday with the U9A,C&E teams away at Thorpe House, playing their U9A,B&C teams and the U9B&D teams travelled to Long Close to take on their U9A&B teams. The U9A team recorded their first win with an outstanding win coming from 1-0 down to win 5-1. There was confusion among the away team staff which resulted in our U9C&E teams actually playing the wrong teams. However, both sides did not let this affect them and the U9C team won comfortably with a 5-0 win. The U9B&D teams both played well but could not quite do enough to get their first wins under their belts.
The U10s are due to take on The Beacon this afternoon and I will report on these fixtures next week.
With only the Year 4 players having had fixtures this week, coaches have nominated players for team of the week from what they have seen in training and any internal matches that have taken place. This week's Team of the Week are:
Sander Andresen (GK)
Billy Ray (D)
Lawson Hind (D)
Luca Walton (RM)
George Norris (C)
Tom Gordon-Smith (C)
Moksha S (LM)
Sam Foxwell (CF)
Aaron Croly (CF)
News from the Chess Master
It has been an excellent start to the Delancey chess competition at Claires Court Junior Boys. This Wednesday saw 40 boys playing in the first round.
Those boys who won their first round match were awarded their Delancey badge in assembly today. They can now earn gold spots for this badge by earning more points!
The draw for the next round will be up on the Chess noticeboard on Monday morning. Good luck!
