PHOTOGRAPHY & ART EXHIBITION
The private viewing of the Photography and Art Exhibition to show the work of both Year 12 and Year 13 students was held last night. Many visitors attended and were highly impressed by the standard of work on show. It was the best attended private view ever with over 150 people visiting. The exhibition continues to be open to the public for the early part of next week until Thursday. It is well worth a visit to see the work produced by our highly talented and creative students.

VISITING SPEAKER – FREDDIE GAFFNEY FROM RAVENSBOURNE
This week, Freddie Gaffney came to speak to the Year 12s from Ravensbourne. Ravensbourne is an industry focused, digital media and design university in the heart of London. Freddie is a lecturer in Film at the O2 campus. Many creative and media students attended the talk and were very motivated by what Freddie had to say:   “Freddie talked about his course at Ravensbourne which was really informative and his presentation was very interesting even for someone not looking at doing media”  – Oli Moore

BUILDING YOUR NETWORK OF LUCK  - HOW 10 MINUTES CAN CHANGE YOUR FUTURE - A STUDENT GUIDE TO OBTAINING WORK EXPERIENCE
I had a fantastic opportunity to meet with the Head of Business at Audi during the week. If you think it sounds daunting and difficult to get in contact with a senior adviser in a rapidly moving company - well you’re completely wrong. I dropped Mr Matthews an email just by finding his contact details from the Audi website. I put together an email within 10 minutes during a study period, just asking a few questions about what he did. Clearly, my passion, individuality and great interest in the industry came through! I was invited down to discuss my questions face to face and was able to gain an insight of what a degree in Business can do for you in this industry. My eyes have now been opened up to many different opportunities in a rapidly growing business including marketing and what sort of company I would like to work with in the future. Dropping an email that takes 10 minutes can change a lot for a student struggling to decide what they want to do in the future - this is the best thing I can recommend to students still debating and exploring options.
