What an unusual week it has been! Whenever we have assessments in school, timetabling gets disrupted - this is to be expected (this is what infuriates state sector head teachers so much, the constant assessments that they are required to place in...

NEWS FROM THE SPORTSMASTER
Last Friday the U10A, B and C teams travelled to Chesham Prep. The A team narrowly lost their game against a strong Chesham team. However, the B and C teams both won by 49 and 98 runs respectively.

On Tuesday the U9A and B teams hosted Thorpe House. With both teams improving every week it was wonderful to see them both record very impressive wins.

Sadly, Wednesday was definitely a day for ducks and not cricketers, as all matches against our local rival St Pirans were cancelled due to the torrential rain. Unfortunately, this was the second year in a row that this has happened to this fixture. Is there something the rain gods know that we don't?! We hope that we have more success next year.

The U9s were in action again on Thursday but the U9A and B teams had to abandon the game as rain stopped play. The U9C and D teams, playing away, managed to finish their games in a light drizzle. The U9Cs recorded their second win in a row, whilst the U9Ds drew with both teams scoring 288 runs.

Though good for our pitches, we do hope for a slightly drier week next week, so that we can see our cricketers out in full force, and their whites remaining white!

RABBITS
Caiden McNulty and Sofianos Ioannaou are our two Rabbit winners from Year 6 this week.  Caiden abandoned his own lunch to help a friend who had tripped over.  He comforted him and made sure that he was okay before continuing to eat his lunch.  Sofianos has impressed the teaching staff this week with his resilience and determination to complete his assessments to the best of his ability despite only speaking English for less than twelve months.   Both boys thoroughly deserve to be Rabbit winners this week.
