| | From the Office | MANAGING EXAM STRESS
Rachael Williams, School Counsellor, is helping the Sixth Form to deal with the pressures of exams and how to cope at this stressful time. Rachael came to speak to the students in assembly today, and will be holding a second session with them next week. This should help the students to be in the best possible place as they move into exam season.
SHOE BOX 4 SYRIA
We are collecting items from the students to fill a few shoeboxes to send to Syria to ‘Make a Child Smile’. Items we are looking for are toys, school equipment, something to wear, toothbrush/paste or hairbrush, sweets (not chocolate). All items must be small enough to fit into a shoe box and any donations are gratefully received. Please can these be brought into school by Tuesday 25 April. If you have any empty shoe boxes as well, please can you send them in to the Sixth Form office.
AIM HIGH – THE “SAASY” FRAMEWORK
All students will receive a copy of the SAASy framework which has been devised to help them with revision. The framework is in four sections – Schedule, Adapt, Attitude and Sacrifice (SAAS) – which should help students to consider how they need to approach their revision. As Muhammad Ali said, “Suffer now, live forever as champion”.
Y12 MEDICAL STUDENTS - PRESENTATION BY DR HOLLY WOLTON
Just before Easter, Dr Holly Wolton came to speak to the Year 12 students who are thinking of a career in the medical profession. It was so helpful for the students to speak to someone who has recently gone through this application and university process and who could answer all their questions. Dr Wolton will be keeping in touch with the students and is compiling a booklet for them which includes key dates and useful information for them.
