Chess
It is great to see so many boys coming along to chess club, and I am delighted that they are working hard on improving their chess skills on lichess and at home over the board. On Monday the boys were able to take advantage of the chance to play each other and thus earn several House Points (Go Cliveden!), whilst on Tuesday I introduced the group to how best to use their pawns during the game. The great French Grandmaster,  Francois-Andre Philidor, once called pawns the "soul of chess"; he was probably right: understand how to position them and the game becomes a lot easier!

Here are a few pictures from Tuesday. Well done to all. Keep playing!

There is a tournament in the JB Sports Hall on Saturday afternoon. For more information go to the Maidenhead Junior Chess Club site.

Rabbit Awards
Awarded for kindness, helpfulness and compassion doing the right thing without being asked, it is what makes our school a wonderful environment. This week our rabbits have been awarded to Logan D (Year 5) Harry M (Year 6).
