 | | Junior Boys Bulletin | | Mr Richards' words summer week 8 | | Mens sana in corpore sano, is an often used quote from antiquity and our predecessors were certainly not wrong with a lot of their thinking. At Junior Boys there has been a considerable focus on this idea this week.

| | From the Office | A message from the Executive Head
Dear Parents and Guardians
Whilst our local neighbouring areas are battling the new Covid variant with surge testing, we are still actively reinforcing the crucial strategies to minimise the Covid risk and endeavour to keep your children safe and healthy. Thank you for your support of these measures, especially the Lateral Flow Testing for Seniors. All of these small steps enable us to provide the safest possible environment for our community.
Some lovely success stories have emerged this week - both Amber Hill and Ellie Rayer, two former pupils who went from Juniors through to Seniors with us at Claires Court have both been selected to represent Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympics in their chosen sport. We are so proud of them, and you can read more about this story here.
In my communication yesterday, I outlined the school's response to the delayed easing of restrictions as directed by the Government. We are trying our best to remain agile to the guidelines which seem to change daily from the DfE, and I will write to you again next week to update you on any other adaptations that we are required to make.
I hope you have a lovely weekend
Best wishes
Justin Spanswick
Executive Head Teacher

Chess
Joseph Conlon is running another ‘Over The Board’ tournament in Cheney, Oxfordshire on Sunday 18 July for those interested in getting back into this format. We are aware that this date clashes with the second gigafinal for older (U12 ) age groups, but it should not impact CCJB’s players. The price is increasing to £24 per child due to the venue increasing its fees. Those interested will find the entry form and details by following the link below:

The first Delancey Megafinal has now taken place, but there is another opportunity to enter if you have not signed up. Click on the link if your son would like to enter.
