Catering Provision 
Parents are reminded that from 7 June we are no longer providing a fixed cost takeaway lunch menu and meals do not need to be booked in advance. The dining rooms are open for breakfast, breaks and lunches, and children may select from any of the available menu items. Food and drink is charged on a pay as you go basis via the till. There are age appropriate services and fixed costs for our younger years. You can top up your child’s dining account via the Parent Portal, where you can also see what has been bought. Should you have any queries regarding dining, please contact the Domestic Bursar, Stephen Rhodes, at ser@clairescourt.com.

Locker Padlocks

Please be reminded that all boys must have a working padlock at school for their locker, so that their mobile phone can be safely stored away. If required, these can be purchased from Mrs Tarr at reception and added to your invoice.

Combined Cadet Force - Last Call!
Last call for anyone who wants to sign up for CCF in September, please fill in the enrolment form from the CCF site and make the initial payment via the pay portal.

Reporting School Absence - Trial at Senior Boys
We are trialling a new system at Senior Boys ONLY of reporting your son’s absence via the Report Portal. Once logged in, select Absence Reporting from the left hand navigation, and then select your child’s name (Senior Boys only at this stage please, not siblings in other divisions). Enter the date/timings of the absence, select a reason from the drop down and provide further details to explain the absence. Please see slide five of the help document for further information. Any feedback after using the system would be gratefully received to Amy Hewitt via ayh@clairescourt.net.

PTA Nearly New Uniform - Friday 9 July 4.30pm 
Subject to change depending to COVID restrictions, but please save the date for the PTA Nearly New Uniform sale on Friday 9 July from 4.30pm - 6.30pm. If you are planning to attend, please complete this form so we have an idea of the numbers of people arriving at different times. Please do not drive into school until all coaches have departed the Senior Boys site.
 
Donations of Nearly New Uniform
The PTA will be accepting donations of good quality uniforms from Monday 5 July and 100% of the proceeds raised from the sale will now go directly to the PTA. All money raised will be used to enrich the school lives of the boys who attend the Senior Boys School. All items donated should be good quality and laundered or dry cleaned. Accepted items include blazers, jumpers, ties, trousers, shirts, rugby, football, PE shirts and shorts. No socks please. Any queries, please contact Tina Webster via email c.e.webster@btinternet.com

Hawkinsport Claires Court Shopping Days - 19 and 20 July
Hawkinsport will be hosting Claires Court shopping days on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 July (and throughout July and early August) at their Bourne End store (SL8 5DT). Please book an appointment in advance to help things run smoothly on the day. Further information on sports kit and bookings can be found here.

Please find the results from the Claires Court and Stanley Spencer Spring 2021 Competition linked below. The Gallery was very impressed with the output from all the boys and girls, and their work can be viewed here.

Games & Fixtures Next Week 
Can all parents please ensure that their son brings sun cream with them to school and applies it before PE and games lessons, as well as fixtures. Team sheets for fixtures are emailed to boys and parents, but can also be checked at https://www.clairescourtsport.com/ using the password CCsport2020. 

Parents are welcome to spectate at all matches against LVS, however for all other fixtures played away from home next week, parents will not be allowed to attend. For the home matches against Oratory Prep parents will be able to watch.

Many thanks to all the Year 9 parents for sharing their views on whether they would prefer face-to-face or virtual meetings with teachers. Overall it was a pretty even split with 39% face-to-face, 44% virtual and the rest no preference! We obviously appreciate the pros and cons of both, and thank you for your feedback.

YEAR 8 ONLY:

GCSE Options Timetable - w/c 14 June 

Just a reminder that Year 9’s will be moving to their GCSE Options subjects next week and the boys will receive a copy of their new timetable from their tutor on Monday morning.

Sports Update
On Tuesday this week, the U14 cricket team played Windsor Boys in the 2nd round of the County Cup. Batting first our U14s scored 129-1 in 20 overs with Joe B scoring 44 not out, Finn K 43 not out and Harrison A 22. In reply Windsor were Bowled out for 61 with Harrison A 2-10 and Joe B 2-6 the most successful bowlers. Eddie H also bowled exceptionally well, bowling Windsor Boys' opening 'Berkshire' batsman with the first ball of the innings with what was an unplayable delivery. 

Congratulations to the whole side on what was an excellent team performance. On Thursday the U14s beat Holyport College in the quarter-final of the county cup. Scoring a mammoth 243-4, top run scorers were Billy C 58 not out, Joe B 43 and George C 34 not out. In reply, Holyport were bowled out cheaply with Prabhan K taking 3-4 and Juan E 2-0. The semi-final will be played next week, away against Eton College. 
 
The U15s lost in the semi-final to Wellington College. Batting first the U15s made 93-7 with Louis S scoring 57. In reply Wellington passed our total for the loss of one wicket.
 
The U12s beat St Bernard's in their county cup quarter final. St Bernard's were bowled out for 88. The pick of the bowlers were Harrison A with 3-1 and Zac P 2-5. In reply, the U12s made 89-4 with Zac P top scoring with 39. The semi-final is due to be played next week against Herschel GS. More details to follow.
