A message from the Executive Head
Dear Parents and Guardians

Thank you so much for your support over the past few months, and especially in this last week with our final (hopefully!) few days of home learning, and with our Lateral Flow testing for Year 7 children and above.

We cannot wait to see your children on Monday.

Have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes
Justin Spanswick

Bulletin Survey
We are constantly looking to make improvements to the way we communicate and provide information. This Bulletin is the core weekly message to all families by email, which covers important school notices, events, key dates, news and head teacher's words. We appreciate your feedback so we can ensure it is reaching you and providing the information you need, in a format that is effective.

We would be most grateful if you could please take a few minutes to answer this questionnaire (or copy and paste this address http://schl.cc/bq) by our extended deadline of Monday 8 March. The form is anonymous and does not collect email addresses. Responses will be aggregated to give a consensus of opinion rather than individual views, to see if there are any improvements or adjustments we can make.

Our condolences
It is with great sadness that we write to let you know that Mrs Pauline Crawley passed away on Thursday this week at the age of 65 years. She retired in April 2019 having spent the previous 12 years working in Claires Court Nursery and was a much valued and loved member of staff who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this terribly sad time.

ALL YEAR GROUPS:

Return to School - Monday 8 March
All year groups are to return to school on Monday 8 March. Our thanks to you all for your wonderful work as home schoolers, and we are happy to send you off for a well deserved break.

A few reminders:
  • Full school uniform on non-sporting days (long or short shirt sleeves). Sports kit only on the days boys are playing sport
  • Face masks (not snoods/scarves) to be worn in communal areas and classrooms, as well as on all transport services
  • Chromebooks need to be fully charged overnight and chargers left at home. If chromebooks are forgotten, please do not drop them into school, as we cannot accept them. We will be minimising Chromebook use in lessons where possible, to get boys away from screens, so they can manage without it for the day
  • Please support your son in remembering all the items he needs for his school day, including packed lunch, sport kit, water bottle. If these items are forgotten please leave them in the ‘Drop box’ at the end of the drive, which we will empty and boys can collect from Mrs Tarr at reception
  • Supervised study will be available after school Monday through to Thursday, but boys need to be collected at 5.15pm, as the school coaches will have already departed at 4.30pm
  • No sharing of equipment between boys, therefore please no balls for breaktime play to be brought into school. We will provide a supply of balls for each year group which will be sanitised after use.
  • We will be reminding the boys in assembly that they should refrain from physical contact/play/wrestling during break times, but if parents can also reinforce this message at home we would be grateful.
Saturday Sport
Saturday morning rugby training will take place for the remainder of term, with sessions running on 13, 20 and 27 March. All sessions will run from 9.30am - 10.45am. Unfortunately, parents are not allowed to watch, so will have to drop off and collect. Venues as follows:
  • Years 7 and 9 at Maidenhead Rugby Club (on the 3G)
  • Years 8, 10 and 11 at Phoenix Rugby Club (Institute Road, Taplow, SL6 0NS)
At Phoenix, please could Year 8 and 11 parents drop off and collect at Phoenix Rugby Club, and Year 10 parents at Boundary Road (directly above the grounds up the hill).
A reminder to all boys to wear full rugby kit, and remember mouthguards, boots and water bottles. All sessions will run according to RFU current guidance.

Science Week Challenge
Boys are invited to pick a challenge and upload a video or a photo of their achievement to their House Classroom. A reminder of the challenges:
  • Drop an egg from an upstairs window without it breaking
  • Make a chair out of cardboard strong enough for you to sit on
  • Make a video of phototropism,
