| From the Office | Executive Head Teacher words
Dear Parents and Guardians
We have made it to half term - thank you for all of your support over the past six weeks and beyond.
If any local or national restrictions regarding Covid-19 emerge over the half term period, I will contact you to ensure you are kept up-to-date on if/how they affect your children's education at Claires Court. Here's hoping that I don't have to contact you!
In the meantime, please stay safe and enjoy your break.
Best wishes
Justin Spanswick
Executive Head Teacher
New campus
Our long and eagerly-awaited planning inquiry for the development of the Ridgeway site is nearly upon us, and we are calling for your help and support. The inquiry will be held online by an independent planning inspector from 18 November for eight days.
As we celebrate our diamond jubilee in our 60th year, we would dearly love to cement our plans to bring us all together at one-purpose-built, future-proof campus fit for our quality teaching and the families we care so much about. Letters of support for the plans are welcomed by the inspector and help form a good picture of all the significant benefits arising from our plans that will so positively affect a wide-range of people in our community. More information is being sent to all our families and friends, so we do hope you can help us and show your support and write to: tim.salter@planninginspectorate.gov.uk by: Wednesday 17 November 2020. Include the relevant planning references in your subject line (or at the top of your email):

Thursday 29 October - Deadline for ordering school lunches
Please find the hot school lunch booking form for the week commencing Monday 2 November. Please complete one order for each child by 4pm Thursday 29 October. Orders received after this time will not be accepted.
Flu vaccination - Monday 7 December 2020
Please find an e-consent form (you will be asked for the school code which is BK110153G) and information about the flu vaccination for girls in Reception to Year 6. Please complete the form by Friday 6 November. This was emailed home earlier this week.
Titan mouthguards
As you know your daughter is required to wear a mouthguard while playing hockey at school. Many pupils are happy to use the ‘Boil and Bite’ style mouthguards available from sports shops. But others prefer the superior protection and comfort of the custom moulded style, normally fitted by your dentist or our supplier (Titan Mouthguards) during a school visit. Please find an e-flyer from our custom mouthguard supplier (Titan). Unlike previous years we will not be arranging a visit from Titan for obvious reasons, but instead you will be able to order a home impression kit and book a video call with one of their technicians if you need help making the impression, before sending the impression off to their laboratory. You will then receive the custom fitted mouthguard directly to your home in the post. Both Junior and Senior Girls will be playing hockey from after Christmas, and we strongly advise them to wear a mouthguard for safety reasons.

Sports kit
After October half term through to the end of the autumn term all girls in Years 3 to 11 will be taking part in football during their games lessons. They will need to wear an old pair of trainers or astroturf boots and shin pads.
School uniform
After half term full school winter uniform is compulsory for all girls on their non games and PE days.
Tempest individual photos
Apologies on behalf of Tempest it appears that not all the proof order forms were sent to us due to a ‘glitch’ with their new software. Tempest have now provided more order forms for all Junior Girls to bring home, some parents have received these and ordered already, but if not please return your order to the school office by Friday 6 November and Tempest are collecting Monday 9 November.
Reception class first day photos
Your daughter's first day photo should have come home with her earlier this week.
Wednesday 18 November - PTA second hand uniform
We will now only accept donations of uniform; this decision has been made not only as a consequence of the Covid-19 Pandemic but to help with our administration too. Any uniform currently held by us can be collected by 16 November or it will be donated. Please contact pta.ccgs@gmail.com to arrange collection
We will not be selling drama or old style sports kit.
Our New Location for future PTA Uniform Sales will be on the Stage at the back of the Main Hall. |
