Sickness, absence and medical appointments
To report any absences or sickness please telephone the School Office on 01628 327600 (you can leave a voicemail outside of office hours) or alternatively email
seniorboys@clairescourt.com. For all medical appointments, notwithstanding emergencies, please email at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.
Head’s Drop-in MEET
Mr Wilding will be holding an informal weekly drop-in
MEET for parents every Monday morning from 9.30am - 10.00am. Please feel free to join him for a chat or to ask questions. The MEET can be accessed using this
link or via the School calendar.
Chromebooks
Please ensure your son charges his Chromebook overnight at home and does not bring his charger into school. We do not have capacity for the charging of over 300 Chromebooks daily. There will be sufficient charge in a Chromebook to last the length of a school day. The boys have been told that this is their responsibility and failure to do so will lead to organisation defaults.
Blazers
Please be advised that the wearing of blazers and ties will resume from 28 September, and after half term will be compulsory for all boys (from 2 November).
Lost property
Even more important than usual, please name all clothing and property, so that we can reunite any lost items with their owner ASAP. Unfortunately, we have nowhere to safely store unnamed items under COVID secure rules. Thank you for your cooperation.
Face masks
All boys bringing face masks into school should also have a resealable named plastic bag to store their mask in during the day please.
New starters
A warm welcome to all our new starters, not only in Year 7, but also across Years 8, 9 and 10, and please find updated
contact details shared again.
Jeans for Genes Days Thursday 17 & Friday 18 September
Next week we will be supporting Jeans for Genes Day on Thursday 17 September for Years 10 and 11, and Friday 18 September for Years 7, 8 and 9. School jumpers/sweatshirts are still to be worn. Whilst we are a cashless school, on these days we would ask the boys to bring in £1 to support this fundraising event for Genetic Disorders UK.
Seniors Parent Pastoral Workshops
Parents are invited to our Seniors Pastoral Virtual Workshops on Thursday 1 October 6.30pm - 8pm. Please find the
link here to join.
Year 7 Team Building
Regrettably we had to cancel the Year 7 Team Building Day that was planned for today, Friday 11 September, as we felt we could not run it safely given the current circumstances. We will of course look at other team building opportunities for our new Year 7 boys through the year.
B9 Vaccinations
The HPV vaccinations that Year 8 boys should have had in the summer term are taking place on Thursday 17 September. Please find the
letter shared from the School Immunisation Team.
B11 Parents Presentation Evening 6.30-8pm Thursday 17 September
The Parents Evening planned for Thursday 17 September will now be a virtual
MEET consisting of a presentation from Mr Wilding and Mr Thompson (Head of Year 11), supported by Mrs Selzer and the Year 11 Form Tutors, and the opportunity for parents to ask questions via the chatstream.
PE & GAMES
Games afternoons 4.15pm pick up. Boys will not return to school for pick up until 4.15pm on their games afternoons, so for Years 7, 8 and 9 Tuesdays and Thursdays, and for Years 10 and 11 this is Wednesdays and Fridays.
Year 9 PE
Whilst B9 parents were asked which if any subject their son would like to drop of Art, Drama or Music in favour of doing a PE lesson instead, we are still trying to build this into the timetable, so please do watch this space, and as soon as we can we will look to introduce this.
Saturday Sports Mornings
Although unable to offer our usual provision of Saturday morning fixtures, we will still be running internal football fixtures within year groups. This is available to all pupils in Years 7-10. We would very much like to see pupils take part in this and particularly for Year 7, it is an excellent way of establishing friendships.
Depending on demand, we will put together teams for each year group and play competitive fixtures (mini leagues) each Saturday morning until half term, when we will reassess our Saturday morning provision for the second half of term. This will start on Saturday 19 September.
