A message from the Executive Head:
We’re back! And thank goodness. It has been for many of us a summer of cancelled holidays, postponed events, and uncertainty always hanging in the air. For me, it has been especially nice to see Year 7, 8 and 9 back in school. These year groups missed out on so many opportunities by not returning to school at all due to the Covid-19 restrictions that were placed on all educational institutions, it is wonderful to have them enjoying their physical school environment once again.

As I stated in previous communications to you over the summer, we have made a number of alterations to our sites for safety purposes, and I am delighted with how your children have adapted to these changes showing both resilience and intelligence in equal measure. I would like to thank you as our parent body for preparing them for school so meticulously, especially with some information only coming out to you at the last minute. However, we still remain at the mercy of the Department for Education and Public Health England and their frequent amendments to policy. Hopefully we can continue this brilliant start to the term without too many other restrictions being put on us.

At the end of next week we will be reviewing our first 10 days of the term with a view to considering when we can reinstate some of our usual practices if possible. I am aware that many of you are eagerly awaiting the reinstatement of after school activities and on site catering facilities to name but two, and we will update you with our intentions periodically.

It leaves me to wish you all a lovely weekend.

Jeans for Genes Day - Thursday 17 September
Next Thursday, we will be supporting Jeans for Genes Day. Whilst we are a cashless school, boys may wear jeans (with their own choice of ‘mufti’ on the top half) for a £1 donation, to be handed in to their form tutor.  If your son has PE/Games, the session will be adapted to suit the clothing worn. Thanking you in advance for supporting this fundraising charity day.

Extended Care
Hopefully you have managed to get a routine set for your son for drop off and pick up.Before school care (BSC), Study and after school care (ASC) should now have been booked for your son up until half term. Please note that if you arrive before 8:15am and have not booked your son into BSC you will need to wait with them in the car park until the temperature check point is open. We cannot take any boy in before 8:15am as our play areas are not manned by staff until then. Thank you for your support on this.

School Uniform
Boys will continue to wear the appropriate clothing on the days already specified.  There will be no change in uniform until further notice.

Lost Property
Even more important than usual, please name all clothing and property, so that we can reunite any lost items with their owner ASAP. Unfortunately we have nowhere to safely store unnamed items under COVID secure rules. Thank you for your cooperation.
