Charity Week fundraising
The whole of the Claires Court community takes great pride in supporting charities. During Lent Term's charity week some individuals and many class groups across our school have already raised over £1,600 for their chosen charities through cake sales, netball matches, swimarathons, walks and other activities. Where the school collected this in just before we closed, we will send it on to the charities concerned as soon as possible. For monies raised already but still at home, or if you would like to support any of the charities directly, please send the donations to the charity below: Building a rainbow
Send your rainbow creations to marketing@clairescourt.com and help us build a rainbow banner to spread hope and joy in this uncertain time.

Year 13 - Important Deadlines
The original UCAS deadline for most students to reply to their offers was set at Tuesday 5 May and UCAS will have emailed you with your final deadline after you received all your offers. Those students still awaiting offers will not yet have a deadline.

Although we have heard this deadline may be extended, this week we have been contacting those students who are still to reply to offers, to give help and advice to help them make their decisions.

Once decisions are made on firm and insurance offers, this opens up accommodation and finance questions for students.

Universities should be sending accommodation information to all students who have made their university their firm choice. If the university has not contacted you yet, you may need to email them.

The application deadline to secure loans are available by the first day of the university Autumn Term is Friday 22 May. Students can begin their application with their preferred choice of university and update this at a later date, should this change. Our advice is not to miss the deadline.

The online application takes 30 minutes to complete and for most students the process will be straightforward.
Here are some ‘top tips’ to help students with different circumstances get their student finances sorted in plenty of time for the new academic year:
  • Apply early to get finances in place before the beginning of the course.
  • Keep contact details up-to-date, including any changes to your email address.
  • Have important documents (passport, NI number) at hand
Here are a few websites you will need to get you started: For extra information and answers to your questions regarding loans and repayment look here:

Don’t forget you will have to apply every year you are at university for your finance.

Having your final course choices made, accommodation arranged and student finance in place will leave students free to focus fully on your work.

Lions of Maidenhead - Swimarathon update
Tomorrow evening was due to be the  Lions Club of Maidenhead Awards Ceremony for the teams that participated in the Lions Club Swimarathon earlier in the year.

Obviously the ceremony has had to be cancelled but we have just heard that our Sixth Form team were chosen as the lucky recipient of a bonus cheque for £250 to go to their chosen charity.

Our Sixth Form swimmers were raising money for the Alexander Devine Hospice and had already raised £241.50 so now with their bonus award they will be able to make a significant donation to the local charity Alexander Devine.

Year 12 Parents Evening
In light of recent events the Year 12 Parents Evening scheduled for Thursday 26 March was regretfully cancelled. Subject teachers will communicate any feedback to students and parents via email.
