Sixth Form Open Evening
It was our annual Sixth Form Open Evening on Tuesday and there were a huge number of Sixth Formers who helped to showcase the Sixth Form to the Boys and Girls in Year 11 at Claires Court, and to many other students who visited us from different schools. Our students are truly our best ambassadors for the Sixth Form - they took students and parents on tours, eloquently explained all our courses and Kayla and James, our student Heads of School, spoke articulately about their experiences in Sixth Form. Mrs Raeburn-James also spoke with insight and wisdom of her experiences as a parent, which proved invaluable to the families in attendance. Each and every student was extremely welcoming, did not stop smiling all evening and as ever, we were very proud of them, as illustrated by this lovely quote from a member of staff - “It was lovely to see the school presented professionally and with great enthusiasm from our Sixth Form students. The speeches were honest and credible and there was positive feedback from parents. Please would you kindly thank them all for the support, efforts and professional representation of our school and values”.

Year 12 Introduction to Careers Resources, Thursday 21 November, 6pm in the Chapel
Mrs Rogers and Mr Hope are looking forward to seeing Year 12 parents at this informal evening to learn more about the choices open to students post 18 years and to get ‘hands on’ experience of the many and varied resources now available. They will be looking at resources such as ‘INDIGO’, ‘SACU’, ‘eCLIPS’ and ‘Kudos’. This is an evening for parents only as students will be learning about this after Christmas. The letter for this will be emailed out to parents next week.

Sixth Form Practice exams - week commencing Monday 2 December
Hopefully you are seeing your sons and daughters getting down to productive revision for their practice exams which will begin in the week commencing Monday 2 December. These will take place in lesson time and the results will give us a clearer indication of current attainment in each their subjects. The next report due for Sixth Form in January will include the results of these exams.

Sixth Form Christmas Party – Thursday 12 December 2019
Just a reminder about the Sixth Form Christmas party which will be held on Thursday 12 December, 7.30pm-11.00pm at Magnolia Park in the Hughenden Valley HP14 4LA. The theme is “White Christmas” so the dress code is to wear something white and sparkly.

Professional qualifications – become a specialist in Microsoft Office
A letter has now gone to all parents of Sixth Form students regarding the opportunity for students to take professional qualifications to become specialists in Microsoft Office. Students may take packages in any, or all of, Word, Excel or Power point. Each package costs £75 which is half the usual price. If you son or daughter is interested, please complete the tear off slip attached to the letter and return it to school. We hope to be able to offer Adobe professional qualifications in the Lent term.
