News from the Sports Master
This week our U9 teams all played St John’s Northwood with 3 wins,1 draw and a loss; it showed that our Year 4 pupils had remembered all the skills we had been practising in the first half of the term.

Our U10A team travelled to the Oratory Prep School to take part in their annual U10 rugby festival. Mr Grose was very pleased with how the pupils conducted themselves through the afternoon and the progress that the team has been making is fantastic.

The U11 teams had Wednesday off fixtures as half of the team travel away on Tour this Thursday.

News from the Chess Master
Welcome back and I hope you all had a constructive half term break.

Well done to all those who have been playing over the two weeks, whether in tournaments or just practicing on lichess and chess24.

Special congratulations!
On Saturday 26 October Josh Sharma won the Under 11 Berkshire Championship and, along with the trophy, can now boast to be the best Under 11 player in the county!

Josh has also secured qualification for the London National Championship through this event.

Our own PTA Chess Festival also provides a route into the Nationals and I hope to see all our best chess players there on Saturday 16 November. The number of entry forms pinned to the Chess noticeboard has dwindled to two, so I hope that everyone who wants to play has taken one home!
WARNING - There is an extra, hefty fee for late entry so get in these forms in!

Entry forms can be found on the Chess noticeboard or through the Maidenhead Junior Chess Club website.
