Art, Photography, Textiles & Media Exhibition
The private viewing of the Art, Photography, Textiles and Media Exhibition to show the work of both Year 12 and Year 13 students was held on Tuesday evening. Many visitors attended and were very impressed by the standard of work on show produced by our highly talented and creative students.
Lessons from Auschwitz – Simon Baxter’s assembly
Simon is an ambassador for the “Lessons from Auschwitz” project and part of his role is to communicate the legacy of the holocaust to his generation and encourage them to be aware of, reflect on and learn from one of history’s gravest periods. Apparently 1 in 20 British people don’t even know what the holocaust was so his role has a great significance in educating his peers about this time. His assembly was filled with interesting facts about Jewish persecution over the years and Nazi genocide, and his story was that we should recognise the patterns of this gradual process and why we should remember. Every one of us learned something new from his very informative assembly. Simon has aspirations to become a history teacher and judging from today’s presentation, he shows great potential.
