News from the Sports Master
Last Friday the U10 teams finally got to play after their first fixture was rained off. We hosted Davenies U10A-D teams for a fantastic afternoon of cricket. The cricket I got to witness that afternoon was of the highest standard and all four of our teams came away with fantastic wins.

This has been one of our toughest week of fixtures and our U9A-C teams hosted The Beacon. This school has nearly double the numbers and our pupils put up a brave fight but ultimately came off second best on the afternoon. However as long as we are learning from each experience the pupils will continue to improve as cricketers.

On Wednesday the U10 & U11 A-C teams played St Pirans. The A&B fixtures were very tight encounters and resulted in narrow losses for our teams, while both U10C&11C teams recorded resounding victories.

Other news to come out next week will include the local Maidenhead Marlins Swimming Gala taking place on Thursday of this week.

News from the Chess Master
Claires Court boys (and parents) made a very early start to the day on Saturday 11 May in order to wend their way to Bristol Grammar School. The boys had earned their place in the English Primary Schools' Chess Association National Semi-Finals.

We came up against some of the best U11 and U9 chess players in the country and showed we were up to the challenge, with wins against Twickenham Prep and Bristol Grammar School (our hosts).

Whilst we did not match our 2nd place from last year, the boys represented Claires Court admirably.

Very well done to Moksha Suriarachchi, , Emin Babusha, Louie White, Dominic Mayling, Kaniska Suriarachchi, Tom Avezbakiev, Ethan Olikara, Anthony Chan and Aman Singh.

Josh Sharma and Ishraj Samra were unable to play on the day but deserve congratulating for helping the teams reach Bristol!

Roll on next year.
Well done boys!
