News from the Sports Master
Last Thursday and Friday the whole of Year 4 travelled away on their first sports tour to play football matches against The Gregg School in Southampton and Ballards School in the New Forest. Not only did our teams return undefeated it was a fantastic opportunity for all the pupils to develop their teamwork and sportsmanship. The pupils were excellent ambassadors for the school and enjoyed every minute of the tour. They all finished the two days with a game of laser quest in the New Forest.
Due to the amount of football that Year 4 have played recently it was not a huge disappointment that their matches against The Beacon were cancelled due to waterlogged pitches on Tuesday.
Wednesday was a busy day. The U10 teams travelled to Berkhamsted where they played 6 matches. They won 2, lost 2 and drew 2, a really good result against this strong opposition. The U11C hosted Thorpe House U11B team at home and the U11B&D teams travelled to Long Close to play their U11A&B teams. While we did not get the results we were looking for, these teams competed really well against higher ranked teams. The U11A travelled to Dair House for their annual tournament. They had a really successful afternoon winning 3, losing 1 and drawing 1, this was an excellent result and saw them finish 2nd overall.
News from the Chess Master Delancey Megafinals
The Megafinal Registration is now open for those boys who have qualified from our Wednesday breaktime tournament. By clicking on the link you will be able to find the dates of the closest Megafinals.
Those boys who have not yet qualified will have another chance through our Lent Term Tournament on Monday 25 March. Entry forms are available from the chess noticeboard. The usual trophies and medals will be available to all competitors, and I have it on good authority that we may be joined by a few girls from CCJG.
