SIXTH FORM MOCK EXAM WEEK  MONDAY 25 FEBRUARY - FRIDAY 1 MARCH
Mock exams for Sixth Form will be taking place from Monday 25 February all week until Friday 1 March. Exams will mainly take place in the Main Hall at the College. Morning exams begin at 9.15am and afternoon exams at 1.45pm. Friday afternoon exams will begin at 1.30pm. There will be no exams on the afternoon of Wednesday 27 February so that students may go to Games afternoon. Normal lessons will be taking place all week for students when they do not have exams.
There are 64 exams taking place in the week so inevitably, some students will have clashes. We have tried to identify any clashes with the help of the students and rearrange any exams for them. The mock exam timetable will be emailed to both students and parents. Students will also receive the mock week arrangements information sheet which will answer their questions on the week and exams.

IMPORTANT EXAM INFORMATION - CONTINGENCY EXAM DAY WEDNESDAY 26 JUNE 2019
For the summer 2019 exam series, a “contingency exam day” has been arranged by the examination awarding bodies which all parents and students need to be aware of. The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) contingency day for A Level examinations has been put in place “in the event of sustained national or local disruption to examinations during the June 2019 examination series.” The date that has been set aside as the contingency day is Wednesday 26 June 2019. This means that all exam candidates must be available to sit exams from the date of their first exam until Wednesday 26 June 2019. This decision is not a school decision and applies to all candidates in all schools. Please can all students/parents/carers make a note of the contingency exam date in the event that an awarding body needs to invoke its contingency plan.

VISITING SPEAKER - RACHEL MCDERMOTT, BURNETT GLOBAL EDUCATION
Year 12 students had an extremely interesting talk from Rachel McDermott, Education Adviser to Burnett Global Education. Rachel discussed the merits of studying Global Hospitality Management at the Swiss universities of Les Roches and Glion. Hospitality is one of the world’s most diverse and dynamic sectors and the demand for students with the right skills, qualities, knowledge and attitude is high. By 2027, it is estimated there will be 400 million jobs in the hospitality industry worldwide.  If students have a love of travel and enjoy interacting with people, studying hospitality management offers the opportunity to join fast-growing, top-tier industries such as tourism and leisure, event management and luxury retail.  Les Roches and Glion offer opportunities to grow personally and professionally, to gain global experience, and to launch exciting careers in hospitality and beyond. Les Roches and Glion are offering students to take part in either a one or two week summer programme which can be taken in Switzerland, Spain, China, London or a combination of two countries.  For further information, please contact the Sixth Form office.
