News from the Sports Master
We have finally had a week where the weather has not affected our fixtures. All our pupils in Years 4-6 have had the opportunity to play this week. Our U9 teams all took on Long Close this week. This was an extremely successful afternoon with all four of our U9 team recording wins. There is some extremely good football being played by all the pupils in this year group.
The U10’s travelled to St John’s Beaumont on Wednesday. It proved to be a challenging afternoon with some very competitive games. For our U10CDE and F teams this was their first fixtures of the afternoon and the U10E and F teams had a great afternoon drawing both games.
The U11 teams also travelled on Wednesday to Chandlings in Abingdon. It was a mixed afternoon and the U11B team played a very competitive match with some great passing football and secured a draw. The U11A team were extremely unlucky not to draw as Chandlings won the game in the last minute.
News from the Chess Master
Not much to report this week. We are now three rounds down in the Delancey Chess tournament with four remaining. All competitors will receive their badges next week if they have not done so already.
The EPSCA first round had to be cancelled due to the poor weather. We will now host this invitational tournament on Saturday 2 March.
