From the office | Visiting Speaker – Ben Halls
Sixth Frm students were most interested to hear former Claires Court student Ben Halls talk about his experience of studying at Emerson College in Boston, USA. Ben explained to the students how living and studying in the USA helps to make them more independent and encourages them to achieve their true potential. If students are interested in applying to study in USA, they should search ‘College Board’ which is the equivalent of UCAS and helps students prepare for a successful transition, including the SAT and Advanced Placement Programme.
CommonApp.org is similar to our UCAS system where one application gives access to more than 800 colleges and universities around the world and is the most seamless way to manage the application process. Ben stressed that students must be absolutely sure that the US will be the best place for them to study their chosen subject and that it is essential for them to have the full support of their family. In Ben’s experience, it is worth the time and effort of applying to study in USA!
