IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SUMMER 2019 EXAMS
We wish to share some important information with you to avoid any possible issues next summer. For the summer 2019 exam series, a “contingency exam day” has been arranged by the examination awarding bodies which all parents and students need to be aware of. The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) contingency day for A Level examinations has been put in place “in the event of sustained national or local disruption to examinations during the June 2019 examination series.” The date that has been set aside as the contingency day is Wednesday 26 June 2019. This means that all exam candidates must be available to sit exams from the date of their first exam until Wednesday 26 June 2019. This decision is not a school decision and does apply to all candidates in all schools. Please can all students/parents/carers make a note of the contingency exam date in the event that an awarding body needs to invoke its contingency plan.
SIXTH FORM IGCSE EXAMS IN JANUARY
Some of our Sixth Form students will have external examinations this month. The English IGCSE will be on Monday 14 January at 9am and the second Maths IGCSE will be on Tuesday 15 January at 9am. All exams will take place at the Senior Boys site and students should be there by 8.45am, with all the equipment they need for the exams in a clear pencil case. Please can students ensure that they wear their lanyards at all times when they are on the site.
SIXTH FORM MOCK EXAMS: MONDAY 25 FEBRUARY – FRIDAY 1 MARCH
Students are already preparing for the mock exams which will be immediately after the half-term holidays, in the week from Monday 25 February. Mock exams will be held for most subjects for both Year 12 and Year 13. A timetable will be produced shortly and emailed to parents.
