News from the Sports Master
As all competitive fixtures against other schools finished last week, everyone’s attention turned to the House rugby tournaments. This year we saw a record number of parents come and support Year 3-6. Due to the numbers in Year 3 & 5, each Year group played two separate tournaments and Year 4 & 6 played just the one tournament. Through the course of the Tuesday and Wednesday each year group displayed superb teamwork, skills and healthy competition. It was particularly interesting to see in the Year 5 B Tournaments that Fawley & Windsor could not be separated, both teams achieved the same number of points, had the same points difference, scored the same number of tries and drew in their head to head match. I personally think it was some of the best set of House matches I have ever seen. The results are as follows-

Year 3 Yellow Tournament
1st - Fawley
2nd - Windsor
3rd - Dorney
4th - Cliveden

Year 3 Green Tournament
1st - Windsor
2nd - Cliveden
3rd - Dorney
4th - Fawley

Year 4 Tournament
1st - Cliveden
2nd - Fawley
3rd - Dorney
4th - Windsor

Year 5 A Tournament
1st - Fawley
2nd - Cliveden
3rd - Dorney
4th - Windsor

Year 5 B Tournament
1st - Fawley and Windsor
2nd - Dorney
3rd -  Cliveden

Year 6 Tournament
1st - Dorney
2nd - Fawley
3rd - Cliveden
4th - Windsor

After all the totals were added up from each year group that meant the overall House Rugby results were:

House Rugby Championships
1st - Fawley
2nd - Dorney and Cliveden
3rd - Windsor

News from the Chess Master
My last chess words of 2018 are comprised of a few reminders and some thanks.

Firstly, today (Friday 14 December) is the deadline for entry into the Year 2-6 tournament on Monday (2pm - 6pm). This is so the boys' names can be entered into the electronic draw. Please note the event finishes at 6pm and so boys will need to be collected from Junior Boys as they would have missed the late link bus option.

We will be running a tuck shop, so boys may wish to bring a little money or a snack with them.

My thanks go to all those who have helped support chess at CCJB during 2018. It has been a highly successful year for the school simply because so many people step up to make it so. Mr Dennis, Mrs Goford and Mr Tuck head the list, followed by our PTA. However, the final thanks of the year is left to you and your son, without whom all this would all be pointless.

Merry Christmas to all our chess players and, without wanting to sound too cheesy, to all a good knight!
