News from the Sports Master
Welcome back to everyone. The Year 3 boys were particularly excited this week as they started to learn the basics of contact rugby. With this in mind, please can all Year 3 parents ensure their son has boots and a gum shield for every games lesson this term.
The U9 teams got straight back into action this week with matches against St John’s Northwood on Tuesday. All matches were high scoring affairs with some positive attacking rugby from both sides. Some of the scores would have indicated that we were playing basketball and not rugby! With three out of our four teams coming away with good wins, it was a fantastic start to this half term for the U9s.
The U10A team travelled to Oratory Prep School for a festival on Wednesday. Also in attendance were Moulsford, Dragon, Caldicott and Aldro Prep. The team played some superb rugby and displayed an excellent attitude throughout the afternoon. With two wins, two draws and one loss, some real progress was made. The rest of the U10 teams play Thorpe House on Friday.
The U11 teams had a rest this Wednesday as the U11A&B squads set off on tour on Thursday. A full report will be out next week.
News from the Chess Master
Congratulations to Moksha who became the Under 10 Berkshire Junior Champion on Saturday and to Josh who represented U12 Maidenhead team at National Youth Chess Association. Full report here.
