News from the Sports Master
It is not often that the Sports Department are actually hoping and praying for rain. The hot and dry summer seems to be continuing and has left our ground currently unsuitable to play full contact rugby. As a consequence we had our U10 & U11 fixture cancelled this week. We are watering a section of our fields and this has allowed us to do some tackling practice. Next week we hope to go ahead with all fixtures even if all year groups have to play touch rugby.

I took great pleasure in witnessing the Year 4 boys in their first ever competitive matches at the school (although it was touch rugby). I was hugely impressed with the standard of play as it shows what hard work the pupils and the Year 4 Games staff have put into getting all teams ready. We had four teams in Year 4 all playing St George’s Weybridge this Thursday. While all the results did not go our way, each match was competitive and I know our pupils will have learnt a lot from the experience.

We look forward to welcoming many of you tonight to the Junior Boys and Girls Sports Department fundraiser. The money we raise will go towards our schools sports tours and outward bounds experiences.

News from the Chess Master
Well, Chess club starts next week and the numbers look good with 35 boys opting for Chess on Monday, and 20 on Wednesday. This is excellent and I hope we will see some really good players coming through.

I have penned a letter regarding lessons with Mr Tuck as it allows me to go into a bit more detail about just how good he is. You can read it by clicking here.

Well done to Moksha Suriarachchi who took part in the Delancey Terafinal last weekend and scored a very respectable 3/6. The Terafinal is the final final of the Delancey tournament and qualifying for this event is a fine achievement. Bravo!

See you next week Chess players!
