From the Office
Rabbits
Rabbit winners this week are Dominic Mayling and Oscar Lewington who are both in Year 4. Oscar was exceptionally kind to a fellow pupil earlier in the week and showed a great deal of compassion and empathy for him. Dominic also quietly helped someone who was struggling with his belongings, giving up his own time to a friend. Both boys are very worthy winners of our Rabbit award this week.

Education Sunday Invitation
The church keeps Education Sunday on the second Sunday of September.  This year St. Luke’s, along with All Saints, Boyne Hill and the Church of the Good Shepherd, Cox Green, with whom we share evening services, has put together a simple service to celebrate education and to pray for the work of all the schools in our parishes. We would like to invite any parents, who wish to, to join us for this short service at 6pm on Sunday 9 September, here at St. Luke’s. There will be light refreshments after the service.  You are welcome to rsvp to: admin@stlukeschurchmaidenhead.org.uk or just come along.

News from the Sports Master
This feels like it has been an incredibly busy week of sport. On Tuesday all of the U9 had fixtures with the U9A&C teams playing Thorpe House and the U9B playing Long Close and the U9D team playing Herries. The U9A, C&D teams all recorded good wins, while the U9B played superbly well against a very strong Long Close U9A team to only lose by a few runs. On Wednesday the U11A&B teams managed to pull off two sound victories against Thorpe House despite missing some key players at the ISA Athletics.

Wednesday also saw 14 of the CCJB athletes from Years 4-6 travel to Eton to compete in the ISA London West Athletics Championships. This is a huge event for the pupils that Claires Court run. This year there were over 800 athletes from Years 4-11 competing from the London West region. With many of the events run as heats, results were taken on time and then compared to the other heats to find the overall winner. All the CCJB athletes competed with sportsmanship, determination and commitment and were a credit to the school.  The team brought home a huge haul of medals and consisted of the following pupils -

Year 4 - Thomas Scargill, Freddie Holgate, George Norris, Kida Zhu
Year 5 - William Dart, Hugo Winter, Jake Hyslop, Tommy Beever, Ben Savage,
