HSBC professional values session
Ayesha James from HSBC came to speak to Year 12 Business and Economics students about ethics in business. The students were given a business scenario and then took part in a workshop involving role play and the decision making process about whether they would give a business loan to certain people. It really made the students think about their positions and what to consider when making such ethical, professional decisions.
Exams, study leave and lessons
During study leave, BTEC lessons for Year 12 and Year 13 will be taught as normal and students are expected to attend unless they have an exam on that day. All subject staff will be available for students to see them in their usual timetabled lessons in their normal classrooms up until the AS or A2 exams in that subject have been taken. Lessons in Year 12 linear subjects will continue throughout the study period and students will be expected to attend unless they have an exam that day – linear subjects are Drama, History, Geography and PE. Year 12 will begin their study leave on Monday 11 May and will return to school on Monday 4 June. Year 13’s last day will be on Friday 25 May and study leave begins officially after the half term holiday on Monday 4 June.
