Mr Spanswick's Words Lent 9 |
| It's amazing how popular you can become by cancelling a day of school due to bad weather! Anyone would think that three day weekends were a popular phenomenon! In all seriousness, I would like to thank you all for being patient at pick up... | |

From the Office | Rabbits
Our rabbit winners this week are Fraser Jones and Finn Keylock who are both in Year 6. Fraser was very thoughtful this week and helped out some of the younger boys with their charity events. He gave his time selflessly and with energy, as he always does. Finn has impressed a number of his teachers recently with his commitment to his studies and to his team mates on the sports field. Even more importantly, has been such a superb role model for our younger boys to follow as he consistently strives to be his Best Self. Both Fraser and Finn are outstanding pupils and very winners of our Rabbit Awards this week.
After School Activities – THURSDAY 15 MARCH
Please note – There will be no After School Activities taking place next Thursday 15 March due to Workshare.

Continuing with our Charity Events, please make a note of the last two dates when the boys will be fundraising at break times.

Year 1 & Reception – Monday 19 March
Summer Term Activities
Summer term activities will be open for online registration via the Activities Hub (activities.clairescourt.net) from Friday 16 March. Listings are available online early next week, so have a look and decide what you would like to do.
Please check that your login details are correct before Friday 16 as assistance with logging in will not be available between going live and Monday 19 March.
Registration will remain open until 9.00am on Monday 26 March. Closing registration prior to the end of term will enable staff to ensure any organisational matters for the activity groups can be resolved before the holiday.
Activities will begin on Monday 23 April 2018.
Any pupil travelling home on the bus must be signed up for an activity, study session or pre-prep after school care. Pupils not staying after school must register as “Going Home”, ensuring that our “after-hours” fire lists are correct.
If you have any queries, please direct them to activities@clairescourt.net rather than calling the school offices as this will avoid any delay.
After School Care
A reminder that After School Care is available at The College for all boys from 5pm-6.30pm Monday – Thursday and from 4pm-6.30pm on Fridays. This must be booked in advance and by 12 noon latest. This can be done verbally or in a homework diary.

News from the Sports Master
After last week, when no year groups played any matches due to the arctic weather, we have all been pleased to get back to normal this week.
The week started with us hosting 25 different teams in the ISA London West U11 5 a-side tournament. Please see the full write up from Mr Goddard in the Latest News section. I am extremely pleased to report that one of our teams finished second and has qualified through to the National event that is due to take place at Dixie Grammar School in Market Bosworth on Friday 23 March.
The U9s travelled to Moulsford on Tuesday to play a triangular fixture with Moulsford and Abingdon schools. With lots of short matches this supplied our U9A&B teams with an excellent opportunity to get fully prepared for their tour to the south coast this weekend. We all wish them the best of luck.
The U10s travelled to St John’s Beaumont and had a very successful afternoon winning four out of the five fixtures. Mr Butterfield was particularly impressed with the standard of football being played across all the teams.
The U11s hosted St John’s Beaumont each team went unbeaten through the afternoon, with good solid wins for the U11A,C,D and E teams and the U11B playing out a successful 2-2 draw.
This week's Team of the Week:
GK - Joel Hannan
D - Casper Bose
D - Zack Sullivan
RM - Oscar Helm
CM - Finn Keylock
CM - Billy Ray
LM - Jake Hyslop
CF - Jack Newton
CF - Prabhan Kang
