FROM THE OFFICE
Our New Campus
This week’s key facts
  • A key driver in bringing forward our plans for a new campus alongside Junior Boys has been whether an alternative site exists in or around Maidenhead which could become our new home.  But although we searched diligently in and outside the Borough, we were unable to identify anywhere, either brownfield or green belt, which was suitable, available or affordable.
  • Maidenhead Hockey Club also finds itself split across playing sites (two in Maidenhead and one in Windsor) and a clubhouse in Bray!  Moreover, players have limited or no access to changing and toilet facilities.  The Club will benefit from pitches, facilities and a clubhouse all in one place, enabling it to grow, attract new members and give more opportunities for the community to enjoy and play hockey.
  • Consolidating our sites will mean we are able to reduce our carbon footprint massively by eliminating traffic between the school sites and across the town centre, removing the need for separate deliveries to each site and offering a more comprehensive coach service with a greater capacity and extended network.  And that’s just on traffic - our energy consumption is predicted to drop by 60%!
