Mr Spanswick's Words Lent 2 |
| Another week gone, another celebration of success in our assembly this morning, and yet another mass of happy faces before me today remind me constantly how much I will miss this role in the school come July. I was lucky enough to give out over 40... | |

From the Office | Rabbits
Rabbit winners this week are Rayan Al-Wakil (Year 1) and Lawson Hind (Year 6). Rayan and Lawson have both been exhibiting caring and selfless behaviour all week without looking for any reward or praise. They have been outstanding role models for others to follow and we are very proud of them both. Well done boys!
Parents Teacher Evening – Tuesday 16 January
Please note that there will be NO after school activities on Tuesday due to the Parents Teacher Evening taking place. However, we are still offering After School Care for Reception – Year 2 and Study for Years 3-6 until 4.55pm.
Music Timetable
The music timetable is available on the school website within the Music and Drama section or you can use this link CCJB Music Timetable
After School Activities
Please ensure you advise the School Office if your son no longer wishes to participate in an after school activity so that we may update our records.
Our New Campus
Hooray! The applications for the new campus have now been submitted to RBWM. These now go through a process of validation before being made available online for public view... and then the countdown begins!
We anticipate the planning decision will be taken by the new Borough-wide Development Control Panel at the end of April/beginning of May. The timeline for the project is on the website.
Over the coming weeks and months we will share with you some of the key facts about the new campus, the plans for the new school and the benefits for all concerned. We are very excited to be working with Maidenhead Hockey Club, not only because we know that many of you are members but also because hockey is increasingly important as a field sport in schools and the UK.
We will be hosting information events for parents, pupils, staff and Maidenhead Hockey Club later this term.
This week’s key facts
- The school campus will have a capacity for 1190 pupils, 910 in the new school buildings and 280 in the current Junior Boys’ ones.
- Development on Green Belt is permitted, providing we can demonstrate ‘very special circumstances’ to justify developing our site. Because education can be shown to provide ‘significant benefit’, it is one of the few circumstances under which development may be permitted and we are presenting our case to support this.
- The site will have a new access road and roundabout where Farmers Way is presently, an improvement on our existing arrangement.
- Across the school campus there will be over 300 parking spaces for parents, staff and visitors plus standing space for 16 coaches.

News from the Sports Master
With no fixtures in this first full week the pupils have been working hard to improve their skills while the coaches have been working with the pupils to try and ensure that the correct teams are selected for next week.
Our fixtures start on Wednesday 17 January with U10 ABCD and U11 ABC matches against Davenies. The U9s start their competitive season away against St Paul’s Juniors on Thursday 18 January. All pupils in Years 4,5 and 6 have now been given fixture cards and these should have found their way home to allow parents to put dates in the diary.
