Sixth Form Open Evening
It was our annual Sixth Form Open Evening last night and there were a huge number of Sixth Formers who helped to show case the Sixth Form to the Boys and Girls in Year 11 at Claires Court, and to many other students who visited us from different schools. Our students are truly our best Ambassadors for the Sixth Form - they took students and parents on tours, eloquently explained all our courses, and Camilla and Todd, our Head Boy and Girl, articulately spoke about their experiences in Sixth Form. Every one of them was extremely welcoming, did not stop smiling all evening and as ever, we were very proud of them, as illustrated by this lovely quote from a member of staff “It was lovely to see the school presented professionally and with great enthusiasm from our Sixth Form students. The speeches were honest and credible and there was positive feedback from parents. Please would you kindly thank them all for the support, efforts and professional representation of our school and values.”
Assembly with PCSO Kelly Farace
Kelly spoke to us about two important issues as we come towards the Christmas holidays
How to stay safe on the move
Kelly suggested that we always plan a route, have a backup route and travel either with a friend or let someone know where you are going. Make sure your phone is charged but keep it well hidden as 1/3rd of all street crime is the theft of mobile phones. Check your phone IMEI number by putting in *#06#. You will need to report this number if your phone is stolen. Keep bags done up and tucked into the body, and wear back packs over one shoulder. Keep to well-lit areas (not parks) and walk facing the traffic so that no-one can come up behind you. Don’t get involved – hand over valuables rather than be hurt. Be aware and mindful – don’t walk with headphones in and walk straight into the road.
Stop and search
Police can stop and search you if they have reason to suspect you are carrying something related to, or that has been involved in, a crime. They will tell you why you have been stopped, what they are looking for and show their warrant card or tell you who they are and which station they are from. They can only search you out of the public eye and remove one layer of clothing. It does not mean you will be arrested.

Christmas Hamper Donations
This Christmas we will be making up Christmas Hampers for the Salvation Army to distribute to local elderly and needy families, and our Sixth Form students have been bringing in boxes of chocolates for this. We are still accepting your kind donations and these can still be brought into school until Thursday 7 December 2017. We have a collection box in the Sixth Form area for such donations. Many thanks.
Sixth Form Christmas Party – Wednesday 13 December 7.30-11.30pm
We are all looking forward to celebrating at the Christmas party after the practice exams. This will be held on Wednesday 13 December, 7.30pm-11.30pm at Magnolia Park in the Hughenden Valley, HP14 4LA. The theme is Winter Wonderland and the dress code is Christmas fancy dress, jumpers or anything red, green, silver, gold and white. The buffet food sounds mouth-watering and not to be missed!
