“The Unforgettables” – A Review
My introduction to ‘The Unforgettables’ involved my younger sister Lucy’s rendition of ‘Send in the Clowns’ echoing within the rather uber-comfortable environment of the Corrigan household bathroom. Nevertheless, I went along for the evening with a high level of anticipation and eagerness to see what the Claires Court students had to offer the audience. The sheer variation of the line-up of songs on offer was the first indication that it should be an enjoyable night for all.
Beginning with ‘It’s a Long Way to Tipperary’, the prolonged line of soldiers marching their way on stage kicked the proceedings off. The closing of the first half culminated with a tremendous high as ‘Send in the Clowns’ was delivered with great conviction. In the second act, the cast of girls gave a radiant and light-hearted version of the 1981 hit ‘Lollipop’, and hits by Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra, ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ and ‘Summer Time’, were beautifully performed.
The evening ended on a definite crowd-pleaser and apt tribute from James Tapner-Evans to the late Prince with his hit ‘Purple Rain’. I am undeniably impressed with all the performers: the vocalists, the compere, the backing band, and the whole team involved. This was a true treat to watch and I eagerly await the next musical performance from Claires Court!

Christmas Hamper Donations
This Christmas we will be making up Christmas Hampers for the Salvation Army to distribute to local elderly and needy families. We are hoping that Sixth Form students will be able to donate boxes or packs of chocolates for this. These can be brought into school until Thursday 7 December 2017 and we have a collection box in the Sixth Form area for donations. Many thanks.
Sixth Form Social Club - £45 subscriptions urgently required
There are still a few £45 subscriptions to come in by next Friday’s deadline. The subscriptions pay for the Sixth Form Christmas Party and Summer Prom. In assembly, Camilla reminded us that the Christmas party will be held on Wednesday 13 December, 7.30pm-11.30pm at Magnolia Park in the Hughenden Valley. The theme is Winter Wonderland and the dress code is Christmas fancy dress, jumpers or anything red, green, silver, gold and white. The buffet food sounds mouth-watering and not to be missed! Cash and cheques accepted. Please can you remind students to let me know if they are NOT intending to come to these events.
Rugby Dinner
Rugby Dinner tickets are still on sale. The date of this event is Friday 8th December. Please do send your slips into school, and tickets for £15 can be paid for on the parent portal.
