From the Office | HOLOCAUST EDUCATIONAL TRUST AMBASSADORS CONFERENCE
Camilla Slais and Sally Price have been invited to this conference in London next week as Ambassadors, a title bestowed on them since they participated in the recent Lessons from Auschwitz Project. The conference is being held in Westminster, and will include fascinating lectures and interactive workshops. They will be able to further their knowledge of this complex history and see how the Holocaust is relevant today. There will also be an opportunity to hear Judge Rob Rinder in conversation with Harry Spiro, Holocaust survivor.
SIXTH FORM PROM
What a night! 140 students and 20 staff partied the night away at Birds Hill Golf Centre in Maidenhead. Everyone looked gorgeous and had clearly made the effort to dress up for the occasion. There was lots of dancing and the photo mirror proved to be a huge success. A great night was had by all and it was a tremendous send off for Year 13.
SENIOR GIRLS SPORTS DAY - A BIG THANK YOU
Miss Cox wanted to pass on her sincere thanks to the students who gave up their free time to help out at Senior Girls Sports Day; Tom Stalker who ran the entire shot put, Lucy Fegan-Earl who assisted for the whole afternoon on the finish line and Todd Muil who ran the entire Long Jump. Miss Cox said “It was the slickest Long Jump and shot put EVER!! We finished before time...even though there were the most pupils ever in those disciplines. They are all most definitely hired for all other Sports Competitions! I honestly cannot thank them all enough!”
GIRLS DRESS FROM SEPTEMBER 2017
At Claires Court Sixth Form we place an emphasis on pride in our community. A visible indication of this is the standard of students’ appearance.
From September 2017, we will be introducing a tailored suit for the girls, the same requirement as the boys; and the girls have agreed there is a need to improve their standard of appearance and appreciate the expectation is reasonable.
We have been working with the girls who have been researching the best outlets from which to purchase the suits. We are not stipulating a preferred supplier but the girls have indicated that suits sold by Zara, Matalan, Next, H&M and New Look are of the right style and quality, as well as price. As well as a tailored suit, girls will be expected to wear a smart top and shoes. This information will also be emailed out to parents.
